My Story
I've always been drawn to the invisible work that holds systems together. Whether organizing knowledge, improving access to information, or using technology to remove friction, I've found purpose in breaking down barriers between people and resources. That pull didn't start in a library or a computer lab—it began when I was a shy, neurodivergent student trying to navigate institutions that weren't designed with me in mind.
As a college freshman, I avoided the library—not because I didn't want to be there, but because I didn't know where to go or how to behave. For nearly a year, I orbited the building, convinced I didn't belong. Then, a stranger offered a map and quick walkthrough. That simple orientation changed everything. It taught me a lesson I carry into every project: when access is hard, it's usually a design failure, not a personal one.

This belief has grounded over a decade of work in education operations and nonprofits. I've been the charter school operations coordinator working 12-hour days, juggling six disconnected platforms, and watching dedicated people burn out under "solutions" that were really just problems in a trench coat. I know what it's like to care deeply about the mission while drowning in systems that should help but somehow make everything harder.

My gift is systems work—creating clarity where there's confusion, building bridges between tools and people. I started Equity-Rooted Strategies to share that gift with the community. When I take the heavy, technical work off your plate, you're free to give your own gifts more fully. As a Black, queer, neurodivergent person, I've spent my life navigating spaces not designed with me in mind. I don't just design for the margins—I've lived there. My approach is rooted in reciprocity: your mission matters, and you shouldn't have to become a database administrator to fulfill it.
Outside of work, I tend to 100+ houseplants and a small container garden—quiet reminders that the right conditions make growth possible. A proud Schenectady-transplant, you can catch me at the Ya Ya's or the Greenmarket. When you're ready, let's build something better—together.
